Uprising — Enemies of Old EP
VALE0033
VALE continues its pursuit to curate exceptional dark IDM, this time recruiting the underappreciated talents of the Australian artist UPRISING and his ENEMIES OF OLD EP featuring remixes by LEON ROSS & POSEIDON. These three artists are core representatives of VALE and its future direction as a label. ENEMIES OF OLD showcases the diversity and refined production approach these creative minds ooze, all with a dark cinematic approach of macabre past.
DRACC begins the EP off with a bouncy flurry of tight triplets that is reminiscent of a vampire's fangs. LEON ROSS then flips DRACC to a deep, dark DnB remix that reminds the listener of Dracula himself sifting through back alleys, with his image seen only by moonlight. Playing off halftime principles, the complexly layered TURMOIL shifts perception to the catastrophes imposed by nature. POSEIDON then removes the adrenaline needle from its sheath and inserts it directly into TURMOIL and the ensuing remix is pure drum madness at 140 tempo. This epic journey ends with a unique, evolving DnB track HUNGER that can't seem to decide where to go next, much like starving societies during famine's hour.
With ENEMIES OF OLD, VALE continues to provide rising artists a platform for discovery and ultimately a contribution to the next generation of electronic music. UPRISING, LEON ROSS and POSEIDON are critical pieces to its success, and you will hear more from them very soon.
